At the Department of Public Safety, Aeris introduced the Java development team to the concept of unit testing, coding to interfaces, and several Spring frameworks. Existing DPS projects were based on WebSphere but the business slowly realized the cost savings involved with abandoning EJBs in favor of JPA objects.
As another developers struggled to complete sets of web services, Aeris was asked to aid. Aeris ended up rewriting 7 endpoints and corresponding service layers, introducing the department to JSON object serialization.
